Building on last week's post, I'm actually getting to develop an Accounting Analytics course for the fall. Still sorting out exactly what to include and defining "accounting analytics" (which seems to have about an infinite number of definitions). So, open up to the forum what would you include and what resources might you point to. There do seem to be a couple of textbooks I'm checking out, but also thinking more broadly.
Couple of thoughts I'm pondering, what tools beyond Excel: R, Python, something else? How best to include predictive and prescriptive analytics? Should/how incorporate more advanced topics: machine learning, AI (although I'm not as enamored with it as many), algorithms broadly, etc.
Eager for any and all comments.
JP, I'd be happy to help you out with this. I can start making a list of topics that you might want to include. Also happy to walk you through it. In fact, I have an additional thought. I think that this could make a great "execution education" course. Could also talk about this. Dean
