Anyone have any case studies or know of articles about the collaboration of HR and finance in developing meaningful metrics around the cash being invested in building "intangibles." I am interested in investments in areas like relationships and human capital in particular. Thanks

@Nick Shepherd we are in the project management training and consulting business and did an internal process improvement intervention for Freeport Indonesia and trained their people how to set it up and run it, and they documented 65 million USD in savings (reduced costs) over a 4 year period. Here is a link to the actual case study from Freeport Indonesia https://pmworldlibrary.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/PMWJ2-Sep2012-WIBIKSANA-EVM-Adapted-for-UndergroundMining-StudentPaper.pdf and here is the link to find out how we implemented it step by step- https://build-project-management-competency.com/1-4-1-11-unit-11/ HOWEVER, in 30 years this is the ONLY case study were we were able to DOCUMENT and QUANTIFY the actual "Return on Training Investment" (RoTI). In most cases, our clients tell us "as long as we keep using your services, you can assume we feel we get more value from the services you provide than they cost" but no real numbers like we got from Freeport. We do try to track this using Kirkpatrick's 4 Level System https://www.kirkpatrickpartners.com/the-kirkpatrick-model/ but still end up with QUALITATIVE not QUANTITATIVE results.
