The Profitability Analytics Center of Excellence (PACE) has been recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)(3) organization operated for non-profit purposes.
PACE filed an application with the IRS seeking 501(c)(3) status, in recognition of its commitment to helping organizations make better, more informed decisions through the development and use of analytical models employing sound economic principles and based on decision-relevant data. This designation by the IRS that PACE is acting in furtherance of non-profit purposes follows its recent incorporation, and is another major milestone for the organization and a testament to the organization’s commitment to transparency and value-based efforts.
PACE’s designation as a public charity by the IRS will increase its ability to partner with other organizations, companies, and associations in pursuit of its mission. The profitability analytics framework developed by PACE incorporates revenue, cost, and investment management into a holistic strategic management framework that organizations can use to better manage their business and achieve their strategic goals.
Monte Swain, Professor at Brigham Young University and a Director of PACE, said, “PACE is operating in the spirit of a non-profit organization in alignment with charter. We are pleased that our status will accurately reflect our operations and our commitment to helping accounting and finance professionals use revenue, cost, and investment analytics to drive value for their organization.”
Larry White, Executive Director of the RCA Institute, former Global Chair of the Institute of Management Accountants, and a PACE Director, noted the importance of the work being done by PACE, indicating the work being done by PACE can help “finance, operations, and marketing aligned on strategy, investments, & performance through enhanced internal decision support information.”
